StarSavior has released its major update for September 17. The update introduces the mystery-themed event “A Study in Gray”, the new SSR Savior Professor M, a new gear-farming event Onslaught Quest, quality-of-life additions like Batch Sweep, and several system revamps.

• Maintenance Schedule: September 17, 01:00 – 05:00 UTC (4 hours).
• Maintenance Compensation: 100 Stellagems + 4 Standard Savior Observation Tickets.
• (Note: The subsequent week's maintenance is scheduled for September 23).

Unique Passive: Research Subject

• Dual Attack & Sample Behavior Analysis: After using Black or White, if eligible to perform a Dual Attack, Professor M applies Sample Behavior Analysis (Undispellable; increases damage dealt by 10%) to the ally with the highest ATK for 1 turn and initiates a Dual Attack.
• Action Gauge & Chill Stacking: When an ally other than herself attacks, Professor M's Action Gauge increases by 4%, with a 50% chance (up to 100% at Lv. 2+) to gain 1 stack of Chill. If the attacking ally has Sample Behavior Analysis, she gains an extra 4% Action Gauge and 1 extra Chill stack.
• Level-Up Bonus: Increases Professor M's ATK by up to 15%.

Basic Skill: Black or White

Professor M swings her bag to attack an enemy and gains 1 stack of Chill.

Special Skill: Evil Begets Evil (Cooldown: 0 turns)

• Triggers automatically after an ally attacks if Professor M has reached maximum Chill stacks.
• Prioritizes the enemy she most recently attacked.
• Deals 30% increased damage if the target's Toughness is broken.
• After attacking, increases her Action Gauge by 5% to 15% and consumes all Chill stacks. (Generates 0 Nova Force).

Ultimate Skill: The Magic Bullet (Cooldown: 5 turns base, 4 turns at max level)

• Attacks an enemy with a malice-infused bullet.
• Grants herself 3 Chill stacks and increases her Action Gauge by 50%.
• Has a 75% to 100% chance to inflict Target Engrave on the enemy for 2 turns (Target Engrave increases damage taken from Special Skills by 20%).

Nova Burst Effects

• Basic Skill: Toughness Fixed DMG temporarily increases by 1 on attack; increases self Action Gauge by 20% after attacking.
• Ultimate Skill: Toughness Fixed DMG temporarily increases by 1 on attack.

Grade / Class Tag: SSR / Ranger.

Arcana Tag / Stat Tag: Endurance / Special Effects.

Banner Period: After September 17 maintenance – October 1, 19:00 UTC.

Unique Effect (Cold Understanding): When Bond Points reach 40 or higher, gains 1 extra Endurance from Training.

• Agile Stance: Increases self Action Gauge by 20% after attacking with a single-target Special Skill (triggers once per turn).
• Sense of Focus: Slightly increases Effect Hit by a fixed percentage.
• Skill of Speed: Increases SPD by 2.
• Skill of Insight: Increases CRT Rate by 3%.
• Talent of Focus: Increases Effect Hit by 6%.

Special target summon options and new player starter banner refreshes available in this update:

• Select Savior / Arcana Observation: Players can choose their targeted SSR Savior and SSR Arcana from the standard pool (up to September 17). Players can change their selected target up to 3 times.
• New Captain Observation Revamp: Refreshes the paid-Stellagem starter banner with all standard Saviors and Arcanas up to September 17 (excluding Cristelle, Amorra, and Professor M). Captains who previously purchased this banner can pull on it again once.

“A Study in Gray” Event Activities

• Clear Story and Assault stages in Candle Square to earn Gray Case Files to buy upgrade materials in the event shop.
• Minigame: “Gwen & Lily's Case Files”: Match adjacent numbered tiles that sum up to 10 within the time limit to clear them and earn score-based mission rewards.
• “A Study in Gray” Orbital Link & Check-in: Participate in daily login and event board draws to earn free rewards, including event wallpapers and observation tickets.
• Lampadis Professor Observation Check-in: Log in daily during the event to claim free Lampadis Professor Featured Observation Tickets.

New Gear Event: Onslaught Quest

• Period: After September 17 maintenance – September 30, 19:00 UTC.
• Challenge bosses (Motivator, Wendigo, and Perses) across three stage types (Scaled Mindscape, Aberrant Assault, and Deceitful Pact).
• Spend Onslaught Contribution Points in the shop to buy pre-set high-tier gear pieces with fixed substats: Twisted Doll's Amulet (Main: SPD 18 | Substats: HP%, CRT Rate%, CRT DMG% | Set: Valor) and Twisted Doll's Soul Ring (Main: ATK 23% | Substats: HP%, CRT Rate%, CRT DMG% | Set: Valor).

Overload Cube has been decoupled from specific story events and transitioned into a standalone seasonal feature (running until November 4, 19:00 UTC):

• Replica Codes are now randomized. Players can use Shuffle Disks to refresh offerings and lock specific codes using the Preserved Codes feature.
• Added new Cube Collection Missions and weekly tasks.

System improvements and convenience features deployed in this update:

• Batch Sweep Feature: Players can now sweep City Patrol, Base Investigation, and Ruins Exploration quests at the same time in Candle Square.
• Dispatch Improvement: Regional Dispatches can now be claimed directly from the main lobby notification and redispatched instantly from the same menu.
• Gear Enhancement Material Refund: Excess enhancement EXP earned when maxing out gear is now refunded as Enhancement Stones.
• Savior Affection Rewards: Reaching max affection unlocks custom titles and Journey Artwork backgrounds that can be displayed on the Main Lobby screen.
• Costume Destruction: Added Toughness Break costume destruction visuals for Luna, Rosaria, Waltz of Starlight Ashera, and Seira.
• Main Story Episode 7 Integration: Episode 7: “The Witch's Veil” has been permanently integrated into the Main Story tab.
• Returnee System: Added the “Return to Lavistar Boost Missions” support event for players returning after 14 or more days of inactivity.

Standard Observation Additions and Cash Shop packages added in this update:

• SSR Savior “Sunshine Cat” Smile added to Standard Savior Observation.
• SSR Arcana “Prep: Time to Shop!” added to Standard Arcana Observation.
• Added the Investigations Grand Opening Step Up Package (features a Premium SSR Savior Selection Box at the final step).
• Returning Skin Packages: “Veiled in Violet Package”, “Black Pearl Trap Package”, and “Sunset Call Package”.
